Shot Gun Bay to Echo Bay - Jul 11, 2016

July 10th – We travelled 12 miles, initially we went to an anchorage in Three Finger Bay, however the cell phone coverage was not very good thus we continued on to Echo Bay and found the coverage to be better. It’s a sunny and warm day, however it’s quite windy. I was woken up in the middle of the night by a very upset lady that yelled “Turn off the Generator!”. We didn’t hear a generator running at the time, however I assume she must have heard one from the other side of the bay. I’m not sure how many people were bothered by the generator, but I’m sure that everyone in the bay was startled by her loud shouting!

July 11th – It’s our 29th wedding anniversary today and one of the key decisions that we needed to make is “What should we do for dinner tonight?”.  Either dinner at Henry’s Fish house or a romantic dinner on the boat. Usually we would go out for dinner on our Anniversary however this decision is a tough one since we weren’t impressed with the quality of Henry’s food during our last few visits. Well we decided to go to Henry’s for dinner and met up with 2 Loopers Rodney and Sharri from Sassafied and Pete and Pam from Endoxi.  We were invited for our first official Docktails and then we all went to dinner together at Henry’s.  Both Sassafied and Endoxi are about to cross their wake (ie. Finish the Great Loop) in approximately 3 weeks thus they had all kinds of valuable information that they shared with us.  Both boats are currently at Henry’s however they plan to anchor out in Echo Bay tomorrow.
