Well we are off the dock and on our way. The last couple of weeks have been very
hectic preparing for this trip and finally we are moving towards a more relaxed
pace.
We pulled off the dock on July 3rd saying our
final goodbyes to a number of people on the Gas dock while we filled our fuel
tanks. Paula & Steve from “Off the
Hook” provided us with an escort to the lake on their Seadoo. We travelled 22 miles to Carthew Bay at the top of Lake
Simcoe to meet more friends for the day as well as saying more goodbyes. It’s tough saying goodbye to
so many good friends and family members.
It seemed weird to have everyone head back to the marina for work the
next day while we got to spend a relaxing night on the hook in the bay.
On July 4th we continued our travels and travelled 28 miles through our first lock of our trip (Lock 42). We didn’t travel very far today since we’re
hoping to stop by the Waubic for lunch, however they are closed on
Mondays. Thus we decided to anchor in
Deep Bay at the top of Sparrow Lake and visit the Waubic for lunch tomorrow. It was Hot Hot Hot, so I went swimming multiple
times and snorkeled along the shoreline (I need a snorkeling buddy ... Donna ;) . We went for a dingy ride around the
area and had an Exxxcellent BBQed dinner.
The sun is setting in the trees beside us as I write this blog entry.

You certainly have had gorgeous weather for your first 2 days. I was looking to see what the monkey had for lunch at the Waubic. Probably in your next post.
ReplyDeleteYes the weather has been great and it's getting hotter! Exxxcellent swimming weather ... even Maria went swimming! The monkey had a really large lunch at the Waubic and was too embarrassed to put it on the blog. Look for more monkey pictures during our visit to Penetang ;)
