AquaFennatic Great Loop Blog: Parry Sound to Echo Bay

July 15^th – It was a cool and rainy day at Big Sound Marina in Parry Sound. We met up with Dennis & Colleen and their kids (Mackenzie, Madison & Wesley) from Lake Front Property and also met their friends Steve and Patty. We needed to go in to town to get provisions and Steve offered us his truck. Steve gets the prize for first loaner car on our trip. Thanks Steve & Patty! After we said our goodbyes we travelled 15 miles to Echo Bay for our family get together which is in Spider Bay on Saturday & Sunday morning.

July 16^th – It was a beautiful day today with relief from all the heat that we’ve had in the past couple of weeks. We went for a dingy run to my sister’s (Stephen’s & Michele’s) cottage for the day and enjoyed some time with them plus my Mom & Dad as well as my sister Kathy and her husband Terry. Roz from “Worth the Wake” contacted us to say they were getting close thus we went back to the boat to help them tie back in Echo Bay. While we waited we gave a tour of our fully packed boat to my family and had a cold one. Once Worth the Wake arrived I played the scampering role (ie. Securing their back line to shore) and then I played tug boat captain to help push the back end of Tom’s & Ruth’s boat towards Worth the Wake to counter the winds that were causing them problems. Steve & Donna from “Overdoo” suffered a 3 hour delay at the Port Severn lock. But they finally arrived after a very long day!
