Aqua-Fennatic is in the water!

Well the boat is finally in the water!  The spring here has been cold however that hasn't stopped me from getting the boat ready for our trip which starts in July.

Travelers’ Heath Advice – Do I need Vaccines?

I discussed our Great Loop trip with our family doctor and he recommended that we review the following site to obtain advice regarding vaccines, medicines etc. for specific travel destinations.

This site contains all kinds of interesting and useful information.  For example, for The Bahamas it suggests that you get the following vaccines:  Hepatitis A, B, Typhoid and some travelers may need Rabies.

I'd suggest you check it out if you have any travel plans in your future :)

The Aqua-Fennatic Boat Card

Boat Cards are basically business cards that can be distributed to interested parties during your travels.  They’re great to keep track of Boaters you’ve met.  You tend to run into the same people at different points throughout the Great Loop, thus these cards are also great to help you remember the names of the crew the next time you see them.  Most Loopers also publish a Blog which is an excellent way to share your travels with those that want to follow along.

We used a company called “Vistaprint” to create our Boat card.  This company allows you to design your card using their tools and their price is very reasonable.   Note that their customer service is excellent.  A courier delivered the package to the wrong address thus they printed up another batch and sent it to us.  We then found out that our neighbour had the original batch … Now we have enough boat cards to last us a lifetime!
