Our Great Loop trip has officially started however we haven’t
left the dock yet due to thunderstorms and high winds. We weren’t too upset about our delayed
departure since this gave us more time to organize the boat ... I’m amazed that
we were able to hide away 1 year’s worth of stuff in the many storage
compartments we have. The trick will be
to find something when we need it ;)
We’ve also spent time wandering around the marina to say
goodbye to many good friends and marina staff that we’ve built relationships with
during the past 21+ years at Krates marina (a.k.a Crates marina).
One of our good friends, Captain Ron, took us out on one
last boat ride before our departure.
Notice the monkey in the picture below.
Captain Ron provides monkeys to all of his close boating buddies. The purpose is to get the monkey off your
back and instead put the monkey on the dash of your vessel. Our plan is to ensure the monkey is included
in pictures along the way.
