Green Turtle Bay KY – The boat is fixed and ready to go - Oct 5, 2016

Oct 5th – It was a hot, windy and sunny day.  They hauled our boat out early this morning and no underwater damage was found thus our issue was caused by a broken motor mount.  While our boat was hauled out we had our rudder stuffing boxes repacked since they were leaking and we wanted to get this issue addressed before we hit the salt water since tightening them didn’t seem to solve the leaking issue.  The replacement motor mount arrived this morning and they had it installed by the end of the day.  Gary of Green Turtle Bay Boat Works has been great as well as their mechanics Bud and the others which addressed our issues quickly and professionally.  Maria did the laundry on shore for the first time since we didn’t want our boat washer/dryer to heat up the bilge for the mechanic.  I went to the marina spa to get my hair cut to look presentable again.  We celebrated the quick fix by going out to dinner at Patti’s again with Loopers Mike and Sharon from “Sunday’s Service” who we met today at Green Turtle Bay.

    1. The mechanic made it look easy and had a really interesting hydraulic jack that lifted my engine easily. We got lucky that it was an easy in & out job.
