In the Bahamas! – Abacos – Marsh Harbour waiting for the winds to die down - Apr 16, 2017

Apr 14th – It was an extremely windy warm mostly sunny day with a few scattered showers.  We are still anchored in Marsh Harbour and since everything is closed today (Good Friday) I decided to do a few boat jobs including changing the oil in the generator, rerouting a bilge pump hose and washing off the diesel dust from the transom.  After a nice cleansing shower we relaxed for a bit on the boat and then Gerald called since he was finished all his jobs and was looking to enjoy the afternoon.  We decided to head over to Mangoes Marina by dingy and sit by the pool with Valentine and Relax Now plus some other boaters that joined us.  We headed back to the boat as the sun started to go down to make some dinner and relaxed during the rest of the evening.  Only one more sleep to Amanda’s arrival.

Apr 15th – It was an extremely windy warm day with a mix of sun and clouds with some scattered showers.  We are anchored in Marsh Harbour waiting for our daughter Amanda to arrive at Noon today by plane from Toronto-Miami-Marsh Harbour.  On the way to the Toronto airport she had an issue with Maria’s truck and had to call our son Sean to take her the rest of the way to the airport.  He’ll have to call CAA to have the vehicle towed back home.  When she arrived we took her back to the boat with all of her stuff and she relaxed for a couple hours since she’s only had a few hours of sleep over the last few days.  In the afternoon we went for a walk in town with Gerald and Barb to check out the area, however most of the stores were closed and then we grabbed some provisions from the grocery store.  Another Canadian boat that we ran into early in our trip (Pat & Lynn from Adamant I) found us in the bay and stopped by our boat for cocktails and Hard Dock Café stopped by as well.  They left before sunset and both Amanda and I blew the conch horn at sunset.
Apr 16th – Happy Easter!  It was a windy warm day with a mix of sun and clouds as well as a brief shower.  We are still anchored in Marsh Harbour waiting for the winds to die down before we move.  Instead of a traditional turkey dinner for Easter, Maria will be making her incredible Curry Chicken which we haven’t had for some time.  Both Amanda and I are looking forward to it!  Amanda brought the clouds with her from Canada … it seems to be always sunny in the Bahamas however it’s been mostly cloudy after Amanda’s arrival.  She was also unlucky when she visited us in Cape Haze Florida since she was there during the coldest days that we had during our stay there.  We’re hoping that the weather changes for the better quickly so she can experience the Bahamas in the sun ... I may have to get on the bow of the boat and do a sun dance!  We headed by dingy to Mangoes marina for docktails and Pandabear tanned by the pool while she socialized with the rest of us.  The time flew by then we had to return to the boat to finish the curry chicken process for dinner.  Afterwards we were invited to Hard Dock Café for a game of cards.
